A Special "Thank You"
Our Republican Majority in the House of Representitves passed a Debt Increase by the smallest majority last week. The rallying cry from Majority Leader John Boehner was we, the United States, had to raise the debt ceiling so our country wouldn't default, be downgraded or impact the stock market. So far two out of three have just happened. Moody's just downgraded us and I've lost all of my 401 proceeds for this year and then some. The stock market? vacillating around the 500 loss.
Thanks you guys. Job well done as usual.

What's Really in the Pelosi Bill?
By BETSY MCCAUGHEY
The health bill that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is bringing to a vote (H.R. 3962) is 1,990 pages. Here are some of the details you need to know.
What the government will require you to do:
• Sec. 202 (p. 91-92) of the bill requires you to enroll in a "qualified plan." If you get your insurance at work, your employer will have a "grace period" to switch you to a "qualified plan," meaning a plan designed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. If you buy your own insurance, there's no grace period. You'll have to enroll in a qualified plan as soon as any term in your contract changes, such as the co-pay, deductible or benefit.
• Sec. 224 (p. 118) provides that 18 months after the bill becomes law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services will decide what a "qualified plan" covers and how much you'll be legally required to pay for it. That's like a banker telling you to sign the loan agreement now, then filling in the interest rate and repayment terms 18 months later.
Protestors wave signs in front of the Capitol on Thursday.
On Nov. 2, the Congressional Budget Office estimated what the plans will likely cost. An individual earning $44,000 before taxes who purchases his own insurance will have to pay a $5,300 premium and an estimated $2,000 in out-of-pocket expenses, for a total of $7,300 a year, which is 17% of his pre-tax income. A family earning $102,100 a year before taxes will have to pay a $15,000 premium plus an estimated $5,300 out-of-pocket, for a $20,300 total, or 20% of its pre-tax income. Individuals and families earning less than these amounts will be eligible for subsidies paid directly to their insurer.
• Sec. 303 (pp. 167-168) makes it clear that, although the "qualified plan" is not yet designed, it will be of the "one size fits all" variety. The bill claims to offer choice—basic, enhanced and premium levels—but the benefits are the same. Only the co-pays and deductibles differ. You will have to enroll in the same plan, whether the government is paying for it or you and your employer are footing the bill.
• Sec. 59b (pp. 297-299) says that when you file your taxes, you must include proof that you are in a qualified plan. If not, you will be fined thousands of dollars. Illegal immigrants are exempt from this requirement.
• Sec. 412 (p. 272) says that employers must provide a "qualified plan" for their employees and pay 72.5% of the cost, and a smaller share of family coverage, or incur an 8% payroll tax. Small businesses, with payrolls from $500,000 to $750,000, are fined less.
Eviscerating Medicare:
In addition to reducing future Medicare funding by an estimated $500 billion, the bill fundamentally changes how Medicare pays doctors and hospitals, permitting the government to dictate treatment decisions.
• Sec. 1302 (pp. 672-692) moves Medicare from a fee-for-service payment system, in which patients choose which doctors to see and doctors are paid for each service they provide, toward what's called a "medical home."
The medical home is this decade's version of HMO-restrictions on care. A primary-care provider manages access to costly specialists and diagnostic tests for a flat monthly fee. The bill specifies that patients may have to settle for a nurse practitioner rather than a physician as the primary-care provider. Medical homes begin with demonstration projects, but the HHS secretary is authorized to "disseminate this approach rapidly on a national basis."
A December 2008 Congressional Budget Office report noted that "medical homes" were likely to resemble the unpopular gatekeepers of 20 years ago if cost control was a priority.
• Sec. 1114 (pp. 391-393) replaces physicians with physician assistants in overseeing care for hospice patients.
• Secs. 1158-1160 (pp. 499-520) initiates programs to reduce payments for patient care to what it costs in the lowest cost regions of the country. This will reduce payments for care (and by implication the standard of care) for hospital patients in higher cost areas such as New York and Florida.
• Sec. 1161 (pp. 520-545) cuts payments to Medicare Advantage plans (used by 20% of seniors). Advantage plans have warned this will result in reductions in optional benefits such as vision and dental care.
• Sec. 1402 (p. 756) says that the results of comparative effectiveness research conducted by the government will be delivered to doctors electronically to guide their use of "medical items and services."
Questionable Priorities:
While the bill will slash Medicare funding, it will also direct billions of dollars to numerous inner-city social work and diversity programs with vague standards of accountability.
• Sec. 399V (p. 1422) provides for grants to community "entities" with no required qualifications except having "documented community activity and experience with community healthcare workers" to "educate, guide, and provide experiential learning opportunities" aimed at drug abuse, poor nutrition, smoking and obesity. "Each community health worker program receiving funds under the grant will provide services in the cultural context most appropriate for the individual served by the program."
These programs will "enhance the capacity of individuals to utilize health services and health related social services under Federal, State and local programs by assisting individuals in establishing eligibility . . . and in receiving services and other benefits" including transportation and translation services.
• Sec. 222 (p. 617) provides reimbursement for culturally and linguistically appropriate services. This program will train health-care workers to inform Medicare beneficiaries of their "right" to have an interpreter at all times and with no co-pays for language services.
• Secs. 2521 and 2533 (pp. 1379 and 1437) establishes racial and ethnic preferences in awarding grants for training nurses and creating secondary-school health science programs. For example, grants for nursing schools should "give preference to programs that provide for improving the diversity of new nurse graduates to reflect changes in the demographics of the patient population." And secondary-school grants should go to schools "graduating students from disadvantaged backgrounds including racial and ethnic minorities."
• Sec. 305 (p. 189) Provides for automatic Medicaid enrollment of newborns who do not otherwise have insurance.

Sacrificing Intelligence for Diversity
I'm spending good time writing to my Senators Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein. Won't do much good writing to Barbara Boxer but a daily diatribe makes me feel better. Our liberals continue the march to dumbing down America.

A Failing President
“We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.”
Any child who has paid attention in Social Studies class understands that the “values and ideals” set forth in the Charters of Freedom by our Founders and Framers were directly derived from Judeo-Christian ethics and Natural Law.
But perhaps the most insulting, the most unnecessary and the most infuriating moment came when Ole B. O. refused – refused – to pay his respects to the fallen US soldiers of World War II at Normandy, France, doing so under the pathetic guise of not wanting to “offend” Britain and Germany.
Well, this is beyond funny. This is our President.

Girly Men
Fast forward to today. Another recession. And... who is at the helm? Ole B.O. Take a look at the spending proposals. Most are for welfare programs resembling the old WPA under the Roosevelt Administration. It didn't work then either. If it was not for WW ll, we'd still be in it! Make work jobs lowered the unemployment rate from the low twenty's to the middle teens by 1937 but was heading back up because employment was temporary.
So, here we are again at the precipice and what does Ole' B.O. do? Big government all over again. And you want to know the scariest part? The lemmings in the country want it! No conservative leadership! Feminine Republicans! My party is the party of girly men!
We, conservatives, hunger for someone to take charge and dump the liberals, lemmings & girly men. I'm so sick of the wimps in this country. Stand up and act like conservatives!!

Change
So what does change look like so far? Hmmmmm Hillary as Secretary of State... I don't really have to go into this one do I? Health and Human Services Secretary: Former Senate Majority Leader Tom "Puff" Daschle: The irony here is so thick you can taste it. Daschle fights like a pit bull every year to prevent tax cuts for working-class folks, like South Dakota farmers, who could save a few thousand dollars on their taxes thanks to the Bush tax cut. But there's no limit to the steps he will take to avoid paying taxes himself. Daschle was telling the truth when he claimed he was for tax relief: Tax relief for the Daschle family, that is. Attorney General: Eric Holder, former deputy attorney general. Let's not forget Holder's role in Clinton's pardon of fugitive financier Marc Rich eight years ago. Gov. Janet Napolitano, D-Ariz: she was the attorney for Anita Hill during the confirmation hearings for Justice Thomas. She has presided over a budget deficit in Arizona that is currently the second highest in the nation. She has presided over a state educational system that according to several surveys that is dead last in K-12 Education. Most importantly, she is the Gov. of a state in which illegal alien incursions into the US since her election have increased over 210% according to the DEA. Gov. Bill Richardson, D-N.M. Spending has risen dramatically during his time in office, an average of nearly 7 percent per year. This trend to spend shows no sign of slowing since the just-passed fiscal-year 2007 budget will grow by more than 8 percent.
I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. I can't wait for the next 4 years of change....

We Deserve it Dividend
I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in
a "We Deserve It Dividend."
To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000
bonafide adults in the U.S.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman
and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a
"We Deserve It Dividend."
Of course, it would NOT be tax free.
So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket!
A husband and wife has $595,000.00!
What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage? – housing crisis solved!
Repay college loans? – what a great boost to new grads!
Put away money for college? – it'll be there!
Save in a bank? – create money to loan to entrepreneurs!
Buy a new car? – create jobs!
Invest in the market? – capital drives growth!
Pay for your medical insurance? – health care improves!
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean?
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks
who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company
that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out
a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive.
If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!
As for AIG – liquidate it!
Sell off its parts.
Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate.
Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.
Sure it's a crazy idea that can "never work."
But can you imagine? ...How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion
"We Deserve It Dividend" more than I do the geniuses at
AIG or in Washington DC.
And remember, This plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned
instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam!

It Does Get Better
What is incredulous to me is how the lemmings cannot figure out how capitalism works. People work for money. The money is used to buy goods and services. Well, that puts allot of other people to work building our stuff and supplying us with things. When the government takes our money nothing is produced. 85% of tax receipts goes to social programs. We have less to spend. We can't buy as much. Jobs decrease. So lemmings, when Ole B.O. starts his FDR program people will get paid with our tax money. Unfortunately, our government will have to borrow money to pay them because there will not be enough tax money to cover it. Works great up until the money has to be paid back. How does it get paid back? You guessed it... Tax money.
Wake up lemmings! You put a Tax and Spend Liberal in office.

No More Liberals Needed!

"Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom."
F. A. Hayak
I've been doing allot of thinking and reading over the Thanksgiving Holiday. I'm stuck by the adulation of a messiah. People hanging on every word. As we spiral headlong from socialism to collectivism I can 't help wondering if we have a chance to stop the train. I'm watching as we head as far away from freedom and liberty espoused by Ronald Reagan in the 80's. It took 25 years to get here. How did we get from the best president this century to Ole B. O.? Most of the blame goes to my republican party. We want to be nice to liberals and get along. We're afraid of what the electorate will think and say about us if for some reason, we decide to lead again instead of trying to get along. I don't want to get along with liberals... I want to defeat them! Their ideas have been tried over & over & over and have NEVER worked!
Liberalism is dangerous. Liberalism led to the propagation of Hitler's Germany. All the way up until 1940, Neville Chamberlain and his cabinet still clung to the belief that if he talked to Hitler just one more time he could persuade him to cease his devouring of Europe. Of course, Churchill's warnings were finally headed and the UK declared war on Germany to save and preserve their way of life.
I don't consider Ole B. O. Hitler. Be serious. I do, however, believe the situation is strikingly similar. Liberals are out of control. Their lies and misdirection are being perpetuated by the lemmings in the media. Those of us who are still true conservatives feel like Winston Churchill. We keep sounding the warnings but the lemmings can't or won't listen. The biggest threat to freedom and liberty is the lemming's voluntary forfeiture of their personal responsibility to Ole B. O. for security
My friends, we need to keep sounding the charge. No giving in to the lemmings or Ole B.O. and his merry band of liberals. I am NOT voluntarily giving up any of my personal responsibility.

Public Works Heaven
F Hoelderlin.
So, we have our answer to the problems of our economy. Public works heaven. Hello FDR. The New Deal all over again. From Business Week Online come the details: "President-elect Barack Obama on Saturday outlined his plan to create 2.5 million jobs in coming years to rebuild roads and bridges and modernize schools while developing alternative energy sources and more efficient cars." My question to all of you LL's is where is he going to get the money? I'll leave you with this thought for a bit. Think about it LL's

Let em' do it

I'm so happy Ole B.O. (Barrack Obama) won the election! Conservatives have been beating their heads against the wall to stop him from getting into office. I say 'get out of the way and let em' do it'
Two generations have passed since Ronald Reagan was in office. We've forgotten how good we really had it. I really miss him. Really.. no kidding! He is the best president we've had this century. Yea, I know some of you are pounding your computers saying "NO, FDR WAS THE GREATEST! No, FDR rebuilt our country with borrowed money that has NEVER been paid back. Reagan did it by giving our tax money back. He breathed new life into our "Stagflation" country .Reagan spawned a tremendous fiscal revolution the carried Bush 1 into office and helped slick Willy hold the country together for two terms.
I assume you all know the Dow took a another 411 point drop
today. Our country is spiraling into a depression. Companies are going out of business at record rates. About 20% of American mortgage borrowers are upside-down, meaning they owe more than their homes are now valued. Unemployment is at 6.5% a fourteen year high!Like FDR, Ole' B. O. s new jobs plan is the usual tax and spend. I alluded to it in my last column. He wants to save the country. The irony is we're asking the same party who put us in this situation to fix it. That's the same as making a alcoholic a bartender!
Our new bartender Ole' B.O., the power alcoholic, will be serving us potions to keep us drunk. Drunk and blissful for the next four years! LL's are dancing in the streets! Wait till the honeymoon is over and Ole' B.O. has to govern. I give him till July for his ratings to take a nose dive. The drunks will wake up in a hangover and say "My God, what have we done?"
It makes me ill to compare Ole' B.O. with Ronald Reagan.....

The Begining of the Road to Freedom
Dr. Hayek wrote this book in 1944 while teaching at the University of London. He was struck by England's and most of Europe's Intelligentsia views about the rise of Hitler and Nazism in Germany from 1932 to 1944. His book documented the true nature of Socialism and it's rise in Western Civilization. He postulated the future decline of freedom and liberty if actions were not taken to prevent Socialism's rise.
His warning were justified. Anyone who has watched the current rise of Lemming Liberalism and the culmination of our new socialist president should be worried. Not concerned, WORRIED! I don't hold Barry and his crew responsible. They espouse socialism with the help of the lemming liberal press. I hold the ignorant lemming liberals responsible. I use the word ignorant because Americans aren't stupid, their ignorant. And, what's most troubling is there is no urgency to learn the truth.
Well, this is where my Blog comes in. I will discuss my views of current political and economic issues through the eyes if Dr. Hayek. I won't temper my words or thoughts for LL's (from now on Liberal Lemmings will be called LL's). I don't believe in their politics. I'm going to talk about what I want to talk about. After all, it's my Blog. If you want to talk about your issues then start your own Blog. This Blog is for Conservative Republicans not just Republicans.
It would be helpful if you bought the book or got it from your local library. It is not easy reading. It is not written for LL's. It requires a great amount of thought and intelligence. It is worth every word. I've read it several times and I learn more each time. If you would like to learn more about Dr. Hayek I would suggest reading Wiki Pedia. They have a great definition and description.
